Multipower was founded in 1985 to sell sports equipment directly to sports clubs through a nationwide van sales operation. This quickly evolved into sports foods using the vans to call directly on the many owner managed health clubs.

In 1991 Haleko, Europe's largest sports food company joined forces with Multipower to form a truly pan-European brand. Today Multipower trades in every European country and can lay claim to the title No1 in Europe with sales of over ?27m in 1997.

In the early days Multipower focused heavily on bodybuilding as this customer group had a history of supplement usage. However, today's fitness customers have a multitude of demands which is reflected in our wide range of products and services. The body building market has a stable core of participants which will always be around but the real growth in our business has been to the fitness market; to the point where it accounts for 90% of sales. What is important to remember is that although many males consider themselves to be fitness orientated they still train to achieve a bodybuilding type of physique albeit less extreme; and that many of the training principles and diets are common to both groups.
